Morris Placed on Injured Reserve

Backup running back Sammy Morris has been placed on injured reserve, ending his season.

Morris, 30, injured his chest against the Cowboys and hasn’t seen the field since. The true extent of his injury hasn’t been released but Morris hasn’t sniffed the practice field in weeks.

My Take: This is a pretty big loss for the Pats. Morris was outstanding when Laurence Maroney was out with a groin injury and is the tough inside runner the Patriots now lack near the goal line. With Maroney and Kevin Faulk now the primary running backs, look for the Pats to sign someone else. They worked out Kevan Barlow a few weeks ago and I think he would be a great fit in a Patriots uniform.
