Paul Pierce was fined $25,000 for flashing a gang-like hand gesture during the third quarter of Game 3 against the Hawks.
My thoughts: Well, David Stern laid the hammer down hard and he had to. The NBA just doesn’t tolerate anything related to gangs in the league and it shouldn’t. I totally agree with the fine and I’m sure Pierce understands it too. I still don’t think it will have an effect on the series whatsoever. It may make Pierce even more fired up and focused.

Does anyone know what the hand gesture was supposed to mean or what it’s supposed to represent? Because I think I saw KG do a similar gesture when he was running back up the court after scoring a basket earlier in the series.
Could it just be something similar to the Quentin Richardson, Darius Miles, and fellow Clippers holding up three and banging their foreheads a couple of years back every time they made a 3 pointer?
This explains it all…

Yes, Paul Pierce is wicked gangster. He makes a crap load of money, and lives in a nice house far away from the ghetto. Wicked gangster, indeed.
PP is a Piru Blood. He used to claim it when he was a rookie in the NBA, and just before that.
Ummm….wake up ppl. PP almost died, remember that stabbing? You dont think that was gang-related?
If you ever got out of your “wicked” NE bubble, you may learn that evn cold blooded killers are in the NBA, NFL, selling us records, etc. PP is not the only gangster in NBA.
Having money and a nice house doesnt mean anything, but that is your typical attitude of ppl like you, not knowing anything, but how you live your life.
Jennifer, you are so wrong its wicked funny.
THE BEST PLAYER IN NBA!(*)
i dont know if paul pierce in gang affiliated but i do know they thought it ment ‘piru’ thats a large gang in inglewood, the city he (and I) grew up in. i dont think he ment it that way even if he were to be gang affiliated though. I think he was just celebating the fact that he had just scored a 3 pointer.
