Padres Acquire RHP Corey From Red Sox

The San Diego Padres acquired righthanded reliever Brian Corey from the Boston Red Sox on Sunday for a player to be named later or cash considerations.

Bot Thoughts: He would’ve never played much. The Sox kept sending him down and calling him up, so it’s nice to see him get a fresh start somewhere else. This trade opens the door for Craig Hansen to affirm himself as a solid righty reliever out of the bullpen.
