Patriots kicker Stephen Gostkowski was bestowed the honor of Associated Press first team All-Pro on Friday. 50 sportswriters from across the country submit ballots for a distinction greater than a Pro Bowl nod, simply because it includes the entire league. Gostkowski is the only Patriot to make the first team as Wes Welker made second team All-Pro.
Gostkowski had 36 field goals in 2008 and led the NFL with 148 points. Not bad for a soon-to-be 25 year old.
My Take: It’s great to see Gostkowski receive this honor, he really was a rock this year for the Pats (minus the short miss against Pittsburgh).
